This 1 Day Jinja Tour starts as early as possible, with the driver guide picking you up from the hotel in Kampala by 6:30 am. The trip offers a variety of sites and experiences ranging from nature to culture. The safari highlight destination on this day trip is the famous Source of the River Nile in Jinja, however, along the way to Jinja, you will get a visit to Sezibwa Falls, which is an important cultural heritage site, and Mabira Forest Reserve – home to various forest wildlife, including birds, monkeys, tree many more.

Day 1 trip,

Start early morning with a visit to Ssezibwa Falls;

Ssezibwa Falls; It lies about 20 miles along the Kampala -Jinja highway. They are surrounded by lush greenery of beautiful lawns, big trees, shrubs, bushes, and a small forest. The site is best for bird and primate viewing, among others. You can take an hour guided tour around the falls to explore the natural beauty and learn about this traditional cultural heritage.

It also acts as an important Buganda Cultural Heritage site where traditional worship of the ancestral spirits. People visit the site to make sacrifices to these spirits in return for blessings and favors.

Ssezibwa Falls

Nature walks in Mabira Forest; After a visit to Sezibwa Falls, drive to the highway, which is roughly 20 minutes, and get to our next destination ‘’Mabira Forest’’ is known as the biggest forest in the central region of Uganda, with a lot of attractions to see. It has existed for the last 100 years. The forest supports a diversity of life, which includes 312 species of trees and shrubs of some of which the shrubs. It is also home to over 316 bird species,219 butterflies,97 moths, and 35 species of small mammal, such as Bushbucks, Squirrels, Red-tailed monkeys, Duikers, and  Rey-cheeked Mangabeys many more to see. Transfer to the Visitor Center at the Mabira Eco-tourism site, meet the site guide, and set off for on 2-hour trek to watch the natural beauty of Mabira Forest. Return to the highway and proceed to Jinja.

Boat ride to the Source of the River Nile in Jinja;

Enjoy lunch in Jinja at the hotel, relax briefly before going for the tour at the Source of the River Nile. You shall take a boat trip on the River Nile and cruise upstream to the exact spot marked as the source of the Nile. You will enjoy plenty of picture moments and explore plenty of wildlife on the Island, along the shores and across the green landscape. Bird lovers can enjoy sightseeing of water birds like cormorants, herons, Kingfishers, pelicans many more. After an hour boat ride, return to meet the driver and leave Kampala, arriving in the evening.
