Detailed Itinerary

Day 1; Pick up and transfer to Bwindi forest.

Depending on your location in Kigali, our expert driver guide will meet you and later, you will set off to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park with en – route lunch. continue to Kisoro district, where you will connect to your booked accommodation,n where you will spend the evening relaxing at your lodge. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Haven Lodge(midrange)/ Buhoma Lodge(luxury)

Day 2: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking

Breakfast will be served early, depart with your lunch box served from the lodge and go report to the park headquarters for briefing by the park ranger guides about the rules and regulations of gorilla trekking. It is also here that you will be allocated which gorilla family to trek. You will then head into the steep slopes of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and trek until you find the great mountain gorillas.

The trekking can take about 30 minutes to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. After finding the gorillas, you will be allowed an hour to view, photograph and record small videos as you please and later return to the assembly point for your certificate. Your guide will be waiting to drive you back to the lodge where you will spend the evening at leisure recovering from the trek. Optional of cultural visit if you are feeling energetic. Dinner and overnight at lodge as above.

Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park (Rwanda)

After morning breakfast, meet the driver / guide and after which you will cross to Rwanda via the Cyanika border with lunch en-route and proceed to visit the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. Later in the evening, drive to your lodge. Dinner and overnight at Le Bambou Gorilla lodge(midrange)/ 5 Volcanoes Gorilla Lodge(luxury)

Day 4; Golden Monkey Trekking

You will have breakfast, thereafter meet your driver guide to drive you to the park headquarters where you will get a ranger guide and start your golden monkey track in the volcanoes national park. This is a rather short experience that can take an hour or three hours. After spending time with the golden monkeys, go and have lunch then after connect to enjoy Ibyiwachu cultural tour. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above.

Day 5: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park

After enjoying your breakfast, you will head on 4-5 hours’ scenic drive to Nyungwe National Park, one of the oldest rainforests in Africa and a home to over 13 species of primates. Dinner and over stay at Nyungwe Top hill view hotel/ One and Only Nyungwe House.

Day 6: Chimpanzee tracking and canopy walk

Enjoy breakfast and go for briefing about the chimpanzees before walking into the forest trail head in search of the active and playful fellows in Nyungwe forest. The Chimpanzees are much easier to watch as they jump from one tree branches   to another, chattering and laughing. Chimpanzee tracking usually takes about 3 hours to find them. On finding them, spend one hour while enjoying memorable photography and video capturing. You will then return to your accommodation for lunch.

After lunch, you will embark on a walking trail that will take you to the Canopy Walk, a swing bridge 50 meters in length that is suspended from large trees. You will be able to enjoy sight-seeing the amazing rainforest with a bird’s eye view, explore wildlife moving about below you. Before nightfall, you will return to the lodge for dinner as above

Day 7: Forest Nature Walk

After having breakfast, you will go on the forest Nature walk with in the park which will enable you to watch the Park’s beautiful tourist features, including waterfalls and orchids in the high altitude swamps among others. Back to the lodge for lunch and spend the rest of the afternoon relaxing or opt to go for tea harvesting in the neighboring local communities and processing it. Dinner and overnight at Nyungwe Top Hill View Hotel/ One and Only Nyungwe House.

Day 8: Transfer to Kigali City

Enjoy breakfast at leisure and then transfer back to Kigali. You will go for Kigali city tour where you will visit the Kimironko market and the Kigali genocide memorial site. After having your lunch, you will be dropped at the hotel advised or you will be dropped at Kigali International Airport for your scheduled flight back home.
