This 7 Days Kidepo and Queen Elizabeth Safari takes you to Uganda’s best safari destinations to go for wildlife viewing. Such destinations include; Kidepo Valley National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Kidepo Valley National Park is renowned home to over 86 mammals and a birding site. It is located northwestern Uganda region, approximately 9 to 10 hours drive to access the park by car from Kampala /Entebbe. The best-recommended type of transport is by use of a domestic flight ‘’2 hours.

Queen Elizabeth National Park is home rich in diversity of wild animals over 96 mammals and around 612 bird species thus making it a remarkable game location.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Entebbe International Airport and Transfer to Kidepo

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be welcomed by a company representative who will brief you about the safari. Then drive to Gulu for an overnight stay at the Dich Comfort Hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

After your morning breakfast, check out of the hotel and proceed to the park. Arrive early afternoon, check in, and lunch at the lodge.

Later, go afternoon game drive in Kidepo Valley National Park where you will be able to spot lions, leopards, buffaloes, giraffes, hyenas, elephants, cheetahs, ostriches as well as bird viewing. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Kidepo Savannah Lodge.

Day 3: Morning game drive and evening game drive

Wake up early to start your day with delicious breakfast, then meet your driver for a morning game drive in the valley, where you will enjoy views of the beautiful mountains and sight-seeing of a good number of animals like lions, buffaloes, giraffes, hyenas, leopards, elephants and cheetahs among others. You will have to visit the hot springs. Drive back to the lodge for lunch and relax as you wait for your evening game drive.

You will head out for a game drive in the remarkable Narus Valley, where you will have a high chance of spotting a large number of herds of Cape Buffaloes, African elephants, Jackson’ Hartebeest, Klipspringer, Jackals, and lions among others before heading back to the lodge for dinner and overnight at the same lodge.

Day 4: Morning Game Drive and Back

After morning breakfast, check out and go for another morning game drive to search for mammals especially the big predators of the park such as Leopards, lions, and cheetahs. Then, drive to Fort Portal for an overnight stay at Kyaninga Royal Cottage

Day 5 : Travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Wake up have breakfast, then after transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Arrive late morning, check into the lodge, rest as you wait for your delicious lunch. Later, go for the afternoon boat cruise along the Kazinga channel that connects Lake George and Lake Edward. While on the boat you will see a good number of hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, warthogs, elephants, kobs many others as well as a collection of birds such as shoe bills, Malachite kingfishers, Pink-backed pelicans mentioned but few. Return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Queen Elizabeth Bush Camp- Budget

Day 6: Birding and Afternoon Game Drive

After early morning breakfast, go visit the Maragambo forest area and Katuguru Bridge area for birding where you expect to see numerous notable birds such as Black coucal, Red-throated wryneck, Blue shouldered Robin chat, Barbets, African emerald cuckoo, African mustached warbler as well as water birds like Papyrus gonolek, white winged tern, Pied kingfisher, Malachite kingfisher, White winged warbler, Greater swamp warbler, Lesser swamp warbler among others.

After birding, drive back to the lodge, relax, and lunch.

Later, go for an evening game drive in Kasenyi plains home to a vast of wild animals, and expect to explore more of them. After, drive back to the lodge. Dinner and Overnight stay at above.

Day 7: Morning game drive –Ishasha sector /Departure to Kampala –Entebbe

You will wake up early and have breakfast, after connecting to the park in the Ishasha sector for another game drive to explore more unique games such as the rare tree-climbing lions and other animals. You will embark on the transfer to Kampala or Entebbe with en-route lunch at the Equator where you will enjoy memorable photography and visiting of a craft shop. You will proceed to Kampala to be dropped off at Entebbe International Airport. End of safari.
