7 Days Kidepo and Murchison Falls Safari
This 7 Days Kidepo and Murchison Falls Safari is an exceptional combined wildlife Uganda destination that is a visit to Kidepo Valley National Park in northeastern Uganda region and a trip ends with a visit to Murchison Falls National Park in northwestern Uganda. Both safari destination offers incredible wildlife viewing because they harbor a diversity of wild animal species and various birdlife as well as unique cultures that can be encountered in communities close to the parks.
Day 1: Transfer to Gulu – Ziwa rhino sanctuary
On your first day of the 7 Days Kidepo and Murchison Falls Safari, you will be picked up at 7:00 am and make an early start on your journey to Gulu. Kidepo National Park is far placed – northeast of Uganda, bordering Kenya to the east and South Sudan to the North. Driving from Kampala or Entebbe direct to Kidepo National Park –the journey is very exhausting thus making it necessary to break the journey in Gulu and then proceed the next day! It’s a 5-6 hours drive from Kampala to Gulu. From Gulu to Kampala covers 12 to 13 hours’ drive.
You will have an en-route stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for Rhino trekking for about 2-3 hours’ life experience and en-route lunch then continue to drive to Gulu town arriving late afternoon. Dinner and overnight at Churchill Hotel Gulu for mid-range/Boma Gulu hotel for budget

Day 2: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park – Evening game drive in Narus Valley
After early morning breakfast, transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park. It’s a 4-5 hours drive to Kidepo National Park, arriving at the lodge in time for lunch. Later afternoon, drive for an afternoon/evening game drive in Narus Valley in anticipation of watching herds of buffalos, zebras, elephants, giraffes, hyenas, cheetahs many others. You will enjoy a slow drive and you can be sure to seize picture moments while on your game drive and you can have stops to stretch out your legs. Day 3: Morning game drive in Kidepo Valley – community visit
Have breakfast and brace yourself for another fabulous game drive in the vast savannah of Kidepo Valley intercepted by patches of borassus palm and the rising scenic hills. Enjoy the rewarding views of the morning sun shining over the hills of Lomej, the Lotukei Mountains to the north close to the Sudan border, the Morungole range to the southern boundary of Kidepo before the rays strike down the endless of the park, and Narus valley. Drive to Kidepo Valley gives you a high chance of meeting the Ostriches which can only be found in this park although their numbers are highly decreasing due to poaching by South Sudanese.
Return later to the lodge and later afternoon, go visit a community around the park where you will learn about their amazing cultural practices and entertainment. Have dinner and overnight at the lodge as above.

Day 4: Morning game drive in Narus Valley
After an early morning breakfast, connect for a morning game drive in Narus Valley for chances to watch the early risers such as the lions, cheetahs, and leopards along with other commonly seen animals like elephants, zebras, and buffaloes among others. Connect to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer for Murchison Falls National Park (6-7 hours) – Top of the falls
Have breakfast, and embark on your journey to Murchison Falls Park with lunch en route in Gulu town. Proceed to enter the park and connect to the top of the falls before driving to your lodge for relaxation. Have dinner, and overnight stay at Pakuba Safari Lodge (Mid-range)/Parkside Safari Lodge for budget

Day 6: Game drive and launch cruise
After an early breakfast at the lodge, thereafter embark on a morning game drive. The activity takes about 3-5 hours, and you expect to spot animals including elephants, Rothschild giraffes, buffaloes, lions, Hartebeest, Uganda Kobs, Oribis, and waterbucks among others.
After the game drive, you will connect to the lodge for lunch. Later afternoon at 2 pm, head for a launch cruise along the Nile which will give you an exciting view at the bottom of the mighty Murchison Falls. Along the cruise, you will view various crocodiles, hippos, and birds on the river banks like kingfishers, cormorants, and bee-eaters mentioned but few. You will enjoy gainful views at the bottom while taking pictures and later drive back to your lodge. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above.

Day 7: Transfer back to Kampala
After breakfast, if you missed the top of the falls hike, drive to visit the top of the falls then proceed to drive back to Kampala. It’s a 5-6 hours drive with en-route lunch. You will be dropped off at a place of your choice or at Entebbe International Airport for your scheduled flight.
