Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive at the Airport and transfer to Mgahinga National Park
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport or at the hotel in Kigali, our safari driver guide will pick you up and brief you about the safari. Then, be transferred to Mgahinga National Park, a home for its three extinct volcanoes, Mount Sabyinyo, Mount Gahinga, and Mount Muhabura, which are part of the Virunga Mountain range, come along home to a number of endangered mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. You will drive through rolling hills and beautiful countryside. Continue to the border ‘’Chanika to enter Uganda. You will proceed to drive to Mgahinga, arriving in the afternoon. Check into your lodge, rest. Dinner and an overnight stay at Lake Chahafi Safari Lodge – Mid-range, Traveler Best Camp – Budget Accommodation.

Day 2: Hike Mount Sabinyo – Full Day
Wake up early and enjoy a yummy breakfast at the lodge, carry your packed lunch boxes, and then meet your driver guide to drive you to the park headquarters for the briefing about hiking rules and expectations. After the briefing, you will be accompanied by the park ranger guide through the hiking trails. The hiking adventure to the summit can last 8 hours, depending on the climatic conditions and other factors on that particular day. Once you access the peak of the mountain, expect to have a unique view of a caldera and the neighboring volcanoes within the park, and spend some time. Later, return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge as above.

Day 3: Another Hiking Exploration – Mount Muhambura
Get ready for another Hiking adventure along Mount Muhambura, after a light breakfast. Carry packed lunch boxes from the lodge. You will then start the challenging ascent to the summit, passing through rocky and steep terrain. You’re making it to the summit, enjoy spectacular views of crater lakes, Virunga volcanoes, various birds, primates, and unique plant life – take a lunch break and begin to descend back to the trailhead. Connect to your lodge for a refreshing, delicious dinner and an overnight stay as above.
Note: It’s advisable that you be physically fit in the body.

Day 4: Depart back to Kigali
On this last day, have breakfast at leisure, overlooking the beautiful nature around, primates and birds in the air. Later, check out of the lodge and embark back to Kigali through the border crossing with a picnic lunch. Arrive in Kigali to be dropped off at your hotel or at the Airport for your onward flight back home.
