Game Parks In Uganda Famous For Gorillas : Gorilla trekking in Uganda is one of the most selling activities that attracts many tourists to travel from all over other parts of the world with an aim of trekking of these species where they are located. Bwindi Impenetrable national park is located in Kanungu district in the Southwestern region of Uganda and it is commonly known as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which covers total surface area of about 321 square kilometers. This national park is commonly visited and famously to be the best destination individuals can travel to for the best gorilla trekking experience because it is a home to over 400 mountain Gorilla and 19 habituated gorilla groups which are always available and can be tracked within four sectors which include the following; Buhoma sector, Ruhija sector, Nkuringo sector and Rushaga sector.

However, it is noted that each of these sectors has its own gorilla family group for example; the Ruhija sector is known to have around four habituated gorilla groups such as; Bitukura, Mukiza, kyaguriro and Oruzogo. The Buhoma sector also has four habituated gorilla group such as; Rushegura, Habinyanja, Mubare and Katwe. More so, the Rushaga sector has around eight habituated gorilla groups such as; Busingye, Kahugye, Bikyingi, Bweza, Mishaya, Mucugunzi and Rwingi. Lastly, there is Nkuringo sector which is located within the southern sector of the park and it has around three habituated gorilla families which include; the Rushegura, Christmas and Bushaho among others.

More so, apart from the mountain gorilla species, Bwindi Impenetrable National park is also a home to over 348 bird species that bird lovers can get to see while touring around the national park, 220 butterfly species, 120 mammal species and many others. tourists exploring within Bwindi Impenetrable national park  can combine gorilla trekking with other activities like; Gorilla habituation, bird watching, mountain biking, guided nature walks, hiking, Lake Mutanda visit, community visits and many others.

Mgahinga Gorilla National park.

Mgahinga Gorilla national park is also known to be among the smallest national parks in the country, which covers a total surface area of about 34 square kilometers. This national park shares boarders with other national parks in other countries such as; Virunga national park in Rwanda and volcanoes national park in the Democratic Republic of Congo hence giving a chance to the mountain gorillas freedom to move from one country to another. More so, it is noted that it is so easy to trek in Mgahinga Gorilla national park compared to the trekking in Bwindi because this game park only has one habituated gorilla group, which is easily trekked, within their natural habitat.

What is Gorilla trekking in Uganda?

Gorilla trekking in Uganda means a process when tourists gather and move around many different parts of the national parks within an aim of trekking the habituated mountain gorilla species within their natural habitats. But however, before gorilla trekking, tourists are always encouraged to arrive an hour before at the park headquarters where they always go through a registration process and given a short briefings about the rules and regulations that they should follow during the trekking such as; avoid eating and drinking while in the presence of the habituated mountain gorilla species, avoid maintaining direct eye contact with the species and keep a distance of about 7 meters between them and the species. more so, the trekkers are being put in different groups with a maximum number of 8 people depending on which gorilla groups they are willing to trek and each of these groups is being assigned to with a park guide whose role is to lead them through during the trekking and also ensure the safety of the trekkers and the animal species.
