Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Upon arrival at Entebbe International Airport on the first day of the 4 days Queen Elizabeth wildlife safari, your driver guide will pick you up, and brief you about the safari. You will transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park in the western Uganda region. On the way you will have an en-route lunch where you will proceed the journey with impressive views of the beautiful scenery, Rwenzori Mountains, tea and banana plantations, crater lakes, and many others. Upon arrival, you will embark on an optional evening game drive where you will be able to view various animal specials like elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, and warthogs among others. After the game drive you connect to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Mweya safari lodge-luxury/ Elephant hab-midrange or Pumba safari cottages-budget.

Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

 After an early breakfast, you will meet up with your driver guide and go for a morning game drive or lion tracking experience in the Kasenyi sector where you will be rewarded with remarkable views of predators like lions, leopards, and hyenas before they go back to their hiding areas. Other animals to encounter include elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, bushbucks, Uganda kobs, warthogs, giant forest hogs, different bird species, plants, and more.  After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will go for an amazing boat cruise on Kazinga channel, a water body that joins Lake George and Lake Edward where you will be able to view large concentrations of hippos and crocodiles in water, elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs drinking water along the shores of the lake, view aquatic bird species, view fishermen preparing their fishing gears for night fishing, take beautiful photos among others. After the boat cruise adventure, you will drive back to the lodge, have dinner, and overnight as above.

Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking and crater lakes tour

On the third day of the 4 Days Queen Elizabeth Wildlife Safari, you will meet up with your driver guide to drive you to Kyambura Gorge for the briefing about the dos and don’ts of chimpanzee trekking. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the forest to look for food. The chimpanzee trekking experience can take about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on the chimpanzees’ movement. As you trek you will have great chances to view other primate species, unique bird species, plant and tree species many others. Once the chimpanzees are seen you will be given one hour with them in their natural habitat which helps you to learn more about their habits and behaviors, and watch them carry out their daily activities such as feeding, breastfeeding, playing, hunting, resting, take a moment of break taking pictures as well as capturing videos among others. After spending an hour with the chimpanzees you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver guide and drive back to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch, you will meet up with your driver guide to drive you on a Crater Lake tour where you will visit Katwe Crater Lake, interact with the local people who will be extracting rock salt from the lake so as to earn a living, visit Nyamunuka Crater Lake which is known as the hospital for animals, Lake Bunyampaka, Nyamunuka many others. After the Crater Lakes tour, you will head back to the lodge for an evening relaxation. Have dinner and overnight as above.

Day 4: Departure to Kampala

On the last day of the 4 days Queen Elizabeth wildlife safari, you will have an aroma coffee or tea served with tasty snacks, followed by check out of the lodge and meeting up with your driver guide to embark on a short morning game drive where you will be able to watch some of the animals that you might have missed during the previous game drive. After the game drive, you will drive out of the park and then transfer to Kampala with en-route lunch on the way and a stopover at the Equator where you will buy craft items, art pieces, and paintings as well as take memorable photographs. From visiting the Equator, you will proceed to Kampala reaching early evening and upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at any place of your convenience.
