Visiting Volcanoes National Park allows one to enjoy a rare opportunity to come face to face with these great endangered mountain gorillas, and watch their natural behavior in their natural habitat. As you explore this beautiful and clean country, you will be captivated by its breathtaking landscape, vast wildlife, and hospitality.
Detailed Itinerary
Our guide will pick you from the airport or your hotel in Kigali very early in the morning at 6 am. On the way, you will enjoy the scenic drive to Ruhengeri. Upon arrival at the park headquarters, get briefed about the gorilla trekking activity to be done, highlighting the rules. Then go gorilla tracking in one of the habituated gorilla groups in Parc National des Volcans. Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virunga is a worth an experience. If you are lucky you can get to the gorillas, spend one hour with them, and be back at the base in time for a late lunch!
Please note that some gorilla families however are more elusive and tracking can take a full day, especially when it is wet and muddy. In the afternoon, you will return back to Kigali to be dropped off at your hotel or in any inconvenient place.
