Uganda Museum

The Uganda Museum is the oldest museum in East Africa to display different historical section of traditional back ground of Uganda, located along Kintante road few kilometres away from Uganda capital city ‘’Kampala’’. This museum has contributed a lot on Uganda’s tourism industry with great achievements through exhibiting the traditional life collection of Uganda’s culture. It started in 1908 by the British protectorate government at Lugard’s fort on old Kampala where now the National Gadhafi Mosque is positioned. Later in 1942 it was shifted to Makerere University School of Fine art and in 1954 was officially transferred to Kintante hill which turned into a permanent place.

Science Industry section

Cultural Village section.

It is found outside the promises of the museum. This Uganda’s cultural houses are categorised of different traditional huts ‘’house’’ among Uganda’s traditional tribe called Batooro, Bakiga, Lango, Ankole, Baganda, Bagishu among others. Each traditional hut has its significant has a clan like hunting spire and hunting in Uganda has been existing over 100,000 years ago. Tools used include bark clothes, traditional beds, knives, traditional dressing codes and saddles.
