Things to do in Aberdare National Park: Aberdare National Park is renowned as the home of a wide number of rhinos and bird species, and a famous place where in 1952, Elizabeth 11 became Queen after the death of her father, King George VI, whilst staying at the Treetops Hotel. The park was established in 1950 with an aim of conserving and protecting the Aberdare Mountains. More so, it’s located 160km from Nairobi, covering a 2 to 3-hour drive to access the park.

Birdwatching
This is one of the best done activity here – guests can search for birds on walk within the Game Sanctuary .You can do it with a skilled guide, who will inform you about the Plethora of birds. The most sought bird here are sunbird and other seven species which include; Golden-winged sunbird, Tacazze Sunbird, Emerald green, Malachite sunbird, Double collared sunbird among others.

Sundowner
Truly this is an astonishing savanna experience, where most of tourist like doing it, because it involves enjoying a cocktail in the amidst of the wildness while having great views of the Aberdare Ranges, MT Kenya and of the Solio Ranch from the Kamatongu Hill.

Chimpanzee Trekking
On safari to Aberdare National Park, can do chimpanzee trekking at OL Pajeta Conservancy in Nanyuki, takes between one and half- or two-hour drive. Upon arrival at the Ol Pajeta Conservancy, embark in search of some Chimpanzees. It is best done in the morning or afternoon hours.
Aberdare Game Sanctuary
This sanctuary covers 1,300 acre area that protects an abundance of wildlife. Guests can experience horse ride on the forested slopes and can be able to view zebras, a herd of Thompson’s gazelles, a sounder of warthogs and Rothschild giraffes ,the tallest creature on earth. Solio Game Reserve
Visit the Solio Reserve a home to both black and white rhinos and it is recognized as one of the most successful private rhino breeding reserves in Kenya. Wildlife to see during your visit include Zebra, Impala, Thomson gazella and Oryx other.
In the Aberdare National Park, can watch rarely equatorial forest elephants, leopards and antelopes. The Bongo can be seen hiding in the thickets and forest, leopards are easily seen here.
