Park entrance fees to Pian upe wildlife reserve; Park entrance fee is the amount of money that is charged by Uganda Wildlife Authority to all visitors in order to access Pian upe wildlife reserve and engage in different activities. Pian upe wildlife reserve is one of the stunning protected areas located in northeastern part of Uganda in Karamoja region. The wildlife reserve covers a total area of 2,788 square kilometers and it’s a home of different wildlife species including buffaloes, roan antelopes, duikers, topi, oribi, gazelle, elands, zebras, leopards, Uganda kobs, reedbucks, serval cats, jackals, waterbucks, spotted hyenas, wild cats, primates like olive baboons, vervet monkeys and variety of bird species. Pian upe wildlife offers interesting activities like game drives, mountain climbing, bird watching, nature walks, cultural encounters cave exploration among others. Park entrance fees to Pian upe wildlife reserve are independent of packages activities like bird watching, nature walks among others, a day’s entrance ticket is valid for twenty four hours from the time of entrance and extra time spent in the park after 24 hours will be charged as an extra day.
All visitors will be required to present a valid identification card to confirm resident status and Covid 19 vaccination card. Children are persons aged between 5 to 15 years and children below 5 years are exempt.
Park entrance fees
Adults
Foreign non residents are charged 35 USD per person, 25 USD per person for foreign residents and 15,000 UGX per person for East African citizens.
Children
Foreign non residents are charged 5 USD per child, 5 USD per child for foreign residents and 2,500 UGX per child for East African citizens.
Uganda pupils and students in a group are charged 1,500 UGX per person.
Annual park entrance passes
Annual entrance pass applies to only foreign residents in Uganda and East African citizens, vehicle entrance is paid separately. Foreign residents require a work permits valid for one year to qualify for an annual pass.
Individual
Foreign residents are charged 350 USD and 350,000 UGX for East African citizens.
Couple
Foreign resident couple is charged 600 USD and 500,000 UGX for East African citizens
Family with a maximum of 4 children
Foreign resident family is charged 800 USD and 600,000 UGX for East African citizens
Annual corporate pass for 10 pax
Foreign non residents are charged 1,500 USD and 2,500,000 UGX for East African citizens
A safari guide is charged 200,000 UGX annual park entrance pass, a taxi driver is charged 150,000 UGX annual park entrance pass and a tour company driver enters for free.
Vehicle entrance fees
Vehicle entrance fees are charged per 24 hours except for concessionaire visitor vehicles who will pay once per trip in the park. Motorcycles, trailers, vehicles with inflammable goods, livestock, produce, poles, timber, sand and market merchandise are prohibited in Pian upe wildlife reserve uncles delivering a service within the reserve or under express approval by the Executive director.

Foreign resident saloon cars are charged 40 USD per entry and 20,000 UGX Uganda vehicles
Minibuses or omni-buses
Foreign resident mini buses are charged 50 USD per entry and 30,000 UGX Uganda vehicles
Pick-ups
Foreign resident pick-ups are charged 50 USD per entry and 30,000 UGX Uganda vehicles
Tour company vehicles and 4-wheel drive
Foreign resident tour company vehicles are charged 150 USD per entry and 30,000 UGX Uganda vehicles
Over landers
Foreign resident over landers are charged 150 USD per entry and 100,000 UGX Uganda vehicles
Buses and Lorries
Foreign resident buses are charged 200 USD and 200,000 UGX Uganda vehicles
School buses for Ugandan citizens are charged 50,000 UGX and delivery vehicles are charged 20,000 UGX per entry.
Self-game drives using private vehicles
Foreign non resident vehicles are charged 10 USD, 10 USD per vehicle for foreign residents and 10,000 UGX per vehicle for East African citizens.
Guided game drives using private vehicles
Foreign non resident vehicles are charged 20 USD, 15 USD per vehicle for foreign residents and 20,000 UGX per vehicle for East African citizens.
Game drives using UWA vehicle
Foreign non residents are charges 30 USD per person, 25 USD per person for foreign residents and 30,000 UGX per person for East African citizens, the minimum charge for game drive vehicles is an equivalent of 3 persons.
Guided nature walk and bird watching
Birding
Foreign non residents are charged 30 USD per person, 25 USD per person for foreign residents and 20,000 UGX per person for East African citizens.
