6 Days Uganda Primates and Wildlife Safari
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
Depending on your arrival time at Entebbe airport on the first day of the safari, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then set off the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park in south western Uganda region. The journey takes about 8 hours’ drive and on the way you will have a stopover at the Equator to buy souvenirs, take memorable
picture and another stopover for lunch in Mbarara. After lunch you will continue the journey with spectacular views of farmlands, rolling hills, traditional homesteads many more. Upon arrival you will check into the lodge, have dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma haven lodge-midrange
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
After an early breakfast on the second day of the safari, carry your packed lunch boxes and meet up with your driver guide to drive you to the park headquarters for a briefing about the rules and regulations to follow during gorilla trekking. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the jungle which may last 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on the movement of gorillas. During trekking expect to view other primate species, forest birds, different plant species many others. Once the mountain gorillas are located you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural environment which gives you a chance to watch them carry out their daily activities like; feeding, breastfeeding, grooming young ones, playing, observe their behaviors, habits, take photos and record the breathtaking moments.
After the one-hour an incredible experience with the gentle giants you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will be rewarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and then meet up with your driver guide to drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight as above.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
After breakfast on the third day of the safari, you will check out of the lodge and your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to drive the journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park with a stopover in Ishasha sector where you will be able to view the unique tree climbing lions which will be lying up in acacia/ fig tree branches if you are lucky. After the game drive you will have en-route lunch and then transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. You will arrive and check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Elephant hab lodge-midrange
Day 4: Morning game drive/optional lion tracking and afternoon boat cruise
On the fourth day of the safari, you will wake up enjoy an early breakfast and your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for an adventurous game drive in Kasenyi plains. During the game drive you will be able to view animals such as elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, bushbucks, warthogs, predators like lions, leopards, variety of bird species among others. After the game drive you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, embark for an impressive boat cruise on Kazinga Channel a water channel that connects Lake George and Lake Edward. During the scheduled boat cruise which starts at 2:00pm, you will be able to enjoy rewarding views of the beautiful scenery, landscape, view animals such as elephants, warthogs, buffaloes, waterbucks at a close range drinking water along the banks, view large concentrations of hippos and Nile crocodiles in water, aquatic bird species many others. After the boat cruise, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight as above.
Day 5: Morning game drive and transfer to Kibale national park
After breakfast, you will meet up with your driver guide to head for a short morning game drive in Kasenyi plains where you will be able to view some of the animal species that you might have missed the previous day. After the game drive, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, followed by check out of the lodge and travel to Kibale Forest National Park. Arrive and connect to your lodge, check in for dinner and overnight stay at Chimpanzee forest lodge-midrange
Day 6: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest
After an early breakfast, you will meet up with your driver guide to drive you to Kanyachu visitors Centre for a chimpanzee trekking briefing with your packed lunch. After the briefing you will be companied by a skilled park ranger guide hike into trekking in the forest in search of the habituated chimpanzee family. During the trekking expect to watch other primate species, different bird species, tree species and others. Once the chimpanzees under habituation are located you will be given one hour to spend with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to watch their behaviors, habits, watch them carry out their daily activities, take photos and record the moments to show people back home after the safari.
After the one hour with the chimpanzees, you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver /guide and transfer back to Kampala. Arriving late evening and be dropped off at Entebbe International Airport for your flight departure or to any place of advice. That makes the end of the 6 Days Uganda Primates and Wildlife Safari
