Truly visiting Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park for gorilla trekking will bring you face to face with the massive giants ‘’the mountain gorillas’’. Well, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, covering an area of about 321 square kilometers and it sits at an altitude between 1160meter -2607 meter above sea level. More fact, the park has become more popular because of being home to half the number of mountain gorillas that still exist in the wild and are splintered in over 23 habituated gorilla families. There are four gorilla sectors where gorilla trekking can be done that is Buhoma, Nkuringo, Rushaga and Ruhija.
Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is also home to endangered mountain gorillas and the three volcanoes namely; Mount Gahinga, Mount Sabyinyo and Mount Muhabura. The park has two gorilla families where gorilla trekking tour takes place. On your Uganda gorilla trekking experience, you will be guided by the park ranger guide on location of the gorilla family-group.

3 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari
Depending on your location in Kampala or Entebbe, our safari driver guide will pick you up and start the drive on your gorilla safari southwards to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The journey will offer you with spectacular view of the country side, rural and semi urban Uganda with several fruit and vegetable market along the roads, crafts and drum makers and a stop at Uganda’s Equator monument where you will cross to the southern hemispheres. After Equator experience the drive will continue with a stop over in Mbarara for lunch enroute before proceeding to Bwindi with short bathroom stopovers and picture sessions of landscape and many others.
Day2: Gorilla trekking in Uganda
You will wake up have an early morning breakfast and your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge and transfer you the briefing point at 7am before you start your gorilla trek at 8am. While at the briefing point, the Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers will welcome you and give seats till the time of briefing as your driver guide registers you with the ranger on duty to be allocated to a gorilla family.
Well, the ranger guide will share to you a short briefing about the experience in the park and how you should interact with nature and the people. The park ranger guide will allocate you to a gorilla family you’re assigned too as you walk through thick forest trail heads. Once you allocate the gorilla family, you will be given one hour to stay with them as you watch how behave, feed, play, groom, take future photography and capturing videos.
Note; If you have heavy luggage, we recommend you to hire a porter to carry your day pack because sometimes the trekking to find gorilla may take a distance from the start of your trek. Porters can help you push or pull you along the steep slippery paths in the forest.

Day 3: Depart to Entebbe or Kampala
On your last day of 3 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari, after morning breakfast check out of the lodge and the driver guide drives you back to Kampala with lunch enroute at the Equator and enjoy picture sessions as you stand in both the northern and southern hemisphere. This marks the end of your remarkable Uganda holiday.
