Detailed itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Akagera National Park –Sunset Boat trip at Lake Ihema

This trip will start with pick up at your hotel in Kigali or at the airport by our company driver representative who will brief you about the safari. Then, set off the journey to Akagera National Park driving through Rwanda’s rolling hills. Arrive at the park and then set off on an afternoon game drive where you watch zebras stripe the horizon, giraffes nibble treetops and antelopes graze around as the sun casts long shadows across the plains. Then, in the evening, head on a sunset boat cruise on Lake Ihema, gliding past hippos wallowing in the shallows and crocodiles basking on the banks. You will also watch fish eagles soar as the sun dips below the horizon, painting the sky in fiery hues.  Connect to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Full Day Wildlife Safari

Head on a full day game drive after a yummy breakfast through Akagera’s diverse tapestry of landscapes. You will drive to open savannah and wooded hills where you will explore all the Big Five – lion basking in the shade, elephant, rhinos grazing quietly, leopards lurking in the shadows and buffalo roaming in herds. Drive around lake Ihema, where hippos wallow and crocodiles bask, their stillness a stark contrast to the park’s fabulous pulse. Drive back to the lodge unwinding with the savannah’s serenity as your backdrop. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive and Return to Kigali

After a relaxed breakfast, then embark on a final morning game drive where you will be wondering about the missed out animal species on previous activity. On your last moments in the wild adventure, return to the lodge for lunch and then drive back to Kigali to be dropped at your hotel or at Kigali International Airport.
